When and where do I pick up my event packet and t-shirt?
Beat the crowd on event day! Come to Sport Chalet in West LA and pick up your packet.

Can a friend or family member pick up my packet for me?
Yes, but they must bring a copy of your photo ID and a note authorizing the pick up.
If I plan to bring my children to walk the course, do they also need to register?
Yes, all participants must be registered for the race.

What is the distance of the course?
5K run/walk = 3.1 miles
10K run/walk = 6.2 miles
What is the time limit for the course?
The streets will reopen on a rolling basis at a pace of approximately 15 minutes/mile based on the 8:00am 10K start time.
What are the age divisions for the awards?
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers, male and female, in each of the following age divisions:
0-13** 35-39 60-64
14-19 40-44 65-69
20-24 45-49 70-74
25-29 50-54 75-79
30-34 55-59 80 +
**USA Track & Field will be providing gold, silver and bronze USATF Association Championship medals to the five fastest runners into two special youth divisions; 10 and younger, and runners 11 to 13 years old. All Santa Monica Classic 5K runners 13 years or younger are eligible to compete for these awards!
The Santa Monica Classic 5K is also the 2010 USA Track & Field Southern California Association 5K Road Championship race, and USATF will be awarding gold, silver and bronze medals for the fastest three runners in 13 age-group categories, plus over all awards for the fastest Open and Masters USA Track & Field runners. To be eligible for these awards, runners must be current members of USA Track & Field, Southern California Association.
As part of the Road Running Grand Prix series, Santa Monica Classic 5K USATF participants are also eligible to win end-of-year awards and to compete for $2,000 in prize money awarded at the end of the series.
What is B-tag timing?
The 2010 Santa Monica Classic will be using the Chronotrack B-Tag timing system. Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your bib and you need not remove the chip from the bib. You must wear your bib on the front of your shirt to receive your official time.
When and where can I see my race results?
Race results will be posted Sunday afternoon on our website.
Where do I park on race day?
There are various Santa Monica parking lots near the start and finish that are open at 5:30am on race day. Click here for a parking map.
Will there be food/drinks available on the course? At the finish line?
We will have refreshments free to registered participants. There will be water stations at miles 1, 3 and 5 of the 10K course and mile 1 of the 5K course. Water and Powerade will be available at the Finish Line and additional refreshments will be at the post-race Expo on the Santa Monica Pier.
Are skates, bikes, or pets allowed on the course?
In the interest of safety none of these items, with the exception of service dogs, will be allowed on the course or in the finish line festival area.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, we just ask that participants with strollers start behind the other participants.
